A Variety of Customizable Programs

Whether you would like to play piano in competitions or only for fun, The Art of Piano has a program for you. Every TAoP student is taught to play the piano BEAUTIFULLY and COMFORTABLY. By selecting one of the programs below, students help Dr. Horváth create a personalized curriculum for them to meet their individual goals and needs. 

For highly motivated children and youth who may or may not be interested in studying music in college.  Students participate in competitions, examinations, and a great variety of performances. One-hour, weekly lessons.

For children and youth wishing to learn to play beautifully and achieve a high level of musicianship and proficiency in piano.  Students follow a well-rounded and motivating curriculum and are offered the opportunity to participate in regular performances, examinations, and competitions.  45- or 60-minute weekly lessons.

For children between the ages of 4 and 7.  Students are taught beautiful tone production and efficient piano technique right from the start in a playful, age-appropriate way.  30- or 45-minute weekly lessons.

For children and youth wanting to try piano lessons or continue piano studies in a low-pressure environment.  Students are encouraged to participate in three performances a year sponsored by the studio but do not take exams or enter competitions.  30-or 45-minute weekly lessons.

For adults of any age desiring to improve their piano skills, be it for professional development or pleasure.  One-hour lessons, weekly or less frequently.

The Curriculum Includes

  • Strive to create moving performances

  • Incorporate historically informed performance (HIP) practices

* The core repertoire consists of the various styles periods of classical music, as well as jazzy and traditional music. Other North- and South-American music styles are also introduced. Sacred music and additional musical styles may also be  included.
